On Saturday 24th July the Freedom Centre will be hosting its annual summer concert running from 2pm through to 9pm. The event will showcase a range of local talent prior to presenting some great tribute acts covering the last three decades.

The Concert takes place on the first weekend of the school holidays and is an ideal way for the family to start the holiday season. Tickets are available from only £2 per person for the full day of entertainment. The Chevin Housing Group are the principal partner for the event and will be inviting many of their members to attend. Helen Wood, Resident Involvement Officer said “We are really looking forward to working closely with The Freedom Centre to provide this day of information, fun and entertainment for our residents on 24th July.  The Freedom Centre provides a range of services and community activities that are crucial for people living in the area.  We want to encourage as many residents as possible to come and find out about what is going on in their local area as well as meeting Chevin staff and working with us to improve services".

As well as The Chevin Housing Group, Morgan Sindall, The One Point, Tega Office Supplies, Prontaprint, CPD Plc, Vic Coupland Ltd, Probe Ltd, The Sewell Group, Environmental & Management Solutions (EMS) Ltd, Gateway and Joynsons have also agreed to be partners at the event. The generosity of these partners has enabled us to keep all tickets at only £2. Business Manager Richard Moorhouse said “I am delighted with the response we have had from the local business community and our suppliers, without their generosity and support we would not be able to keep the ticket price so low. We hope the event will be one to remember and I am confident the local talent will shine on the big stage alongside the professional acts. The range of acts should cover all tastes which will contribute to a great day for the family.

The concert combines professional artistes with giving local talent the opportunity to perform on a professional stage to a large audience. Headlining the event are the fabulous Take That By Storm, David Burrows as Jon Bon Jovi and Shang-A-Lang who specialise as a 70’s tribute and perform a range of hits from the Bay City Rollers among others. Rhythm & Dance Academy, The Max Life Project, the winners of Stage 2010, which is to be held at the Freedom Centre in early July, are already guaranteed time on the stage and many more yet to confirm.
